Designed for those who wish to study, understand and experience Europe. The International Master in European Studies is a postgraduate program which provides students with a professional knowledge of the European dimensions at the institutional, policy and funding levels. It is organized by the Belgian-Italian Chamber of Commerce, in cooperation with the Institute of European Studies of the Université catholique de Louvain.
The Master's program gives its participants a solid background of the EU planning procedures, enabling them to coordinate and manage projects and tenders which follow the guidelines suggested by the European Commission. Being Brussels-based is a crucial element of our training course: only in the Capital of Europe is it possible to really breathe the EU atmosphere and to be able to catch every single opportunity in the field of European policies and programs!
Not many advisors know how to support companies and organisations, when it comes to using the resources that the EU makes available regarding different fields, such as internationalisation of SMEs, innovation processes, cooperation and development, environment, transports, etc. Master’s graduates will be able to offer consultancy to different public and private entities that want to apply for an EU grant or tender. Possible job placements are EU consulting firms, Chambers of Commerce, Euro Info Centres, SMEs and multinational companies which are involved in a process of internationalisation, public entities such as Regional offices, NGOs, and EU law firms. The Master's graduate may also work as a Community Advisor for European business companies, networks and agencies.

The Master's degree programme is organised into three sections, with the first being an overview of European Institutions’ structure and functioning and Community Policies. The second section is the core of the Master and it focuses upon European planning and EU programmes. Here, the students will be working in groups on EU grants and tenders, helped by professionals of this field. The third section of the program consists of seminars at the major European institutions, including the European Commission and Parliament, and the Council of the European Union. Part of this section are also the meetings with experts, where consultants, advisors and lobbyists working in the EU-Brussels-environment meet directly the Master’s students.
